The Utherverse cache is a collection of encrypted files stored on your local drive. These files are all the content that your client has downloaded to to display the world to you. It is not related to your web browser cache, thia ia purely for Utherverse/RLC

Sometimes you may need to clear the cache to replace corrupted files or for other reasons. Here are several ways to do this, the most common way is to just delete the folder and everything in it. The Uthervese cache can become corrupted and you may see checkerboarded textures and or white avators. This can also be caused if the images that are on the props at a particular location are unavailable, or maybe your internet connection has failed.

The easiest way clear the Utherverse cache is to use following slash command in chat. This delete your cached images and textures, without affecting any settings, and without having to log out and restart.

/clearcache

Alternatively you can do a Repair when you run Utherverse.

Manually clear the Utherverse cache[]

Before attempting to manually clear your Utherverse cache, ensure you have closed the Utherverse game client.

  2. A Windows Explorer window will open a new window located at C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Temp\UtherverseCache.
  3. In this folder you should see at least one folder and four files, being DefaultLanguage, motd, pnotes and tos.
  4. The folders are named with a string of numbers.
  5. Delete these four files and the folders located here.
  6. Once this is completed and the UtherverseCache folder is empty, close the window and run the Utherverse game client again. This forces the download and creation of a new clean Utherverse cache.
