The Audio Play Music script can be applied to any object in your property to play a music stream.
Important! Play Music will no longer start auto-playing after loading into a old property where you have installed a music player previously (pre update 4904), unless the Activate on Load state has been enabled in the state tab. Considering this is a new state, all created Play Music scripts already created do not have this state enabled, meaning no music will be playing by default on your existing properties until this has been updated by the owner.
Script setup[]
This is the preferred method:
- Create a new prop, it can be any prop but the Jukebox is a normally used.
- In the script tab add the Play Music script to the prop.
- In the URL copy a link from the Radio Stations page,
Version[]
This field should be set to 0. If there are multiple streams running on the same url, this is where you must specify the version number. This is an old feature and most streams nowadays are separated by URL and no longer require the version setting. However, older stations that use this can still be used with this.
Clickable Trigger[]
It is possible now to enable music scripts to be clicked on. This will make it so that users are able to pause or un pause the music by clicking on the prop this is attached to.
If this same thing is done with a switch it will pause or un-pause the music stream globally for all and everyone present in the dimension.
Music is not playing[]
There are multiple causes to this, the main mistake made is usually a double Audio Play Music script. This occurs a lot when streams are switched out, for example for a temporary DJ stream and instead or replacing the stream a new one is added causing a duplicate script to exist. If this is the case music most likely will be cut of and not play, remove one of the two scripts to get a proper working stream again. It is wise to use the prop list to find the duplicate script.
